Busy January
The month of January was filled with Geography Bees and Spelling Bees. Students in grades 4 through 6 have a preliminary competition in each grade consisting of 35 students. They compete through 7 rounds to be earn a place in the finals. On January 15 we held the final competition.
Here are the 10 participants.

with 25 students participating.

Provo Reads
Provo City School District is
pleased to announce the
highly acclaimed book Wonder by R.J. Palacio as
highly acclaimed book Wonder by R.J. Palacio as
this year’s ProvoReads. Wonder
was chosen to collaborate with Rachel’s Challenge in a focus to be kind and
look for the good in others. Each school
has been given a classroom set of Wonder
for the library
We hope this book will start a conversation at school as well as at home
about how we all can choose to be kind.

The district is also hosting
a poster and essay contest that students may participate in to promote choosing
to be kind.
Entry forms may be obtained in the library.

Theme: Choose Kindness
Size: No larger than 12”x 12”
including matt
On the back of the art piece
have student’s name, grade, teacher and school.
Certificate and ribbon will be given to everyone who
participates.
Prizes will be given to top 3 winners chosen from each
school.
1 Best of Theme and Art winner will be displayed from each
school and receive best of show prize. (Will be chosen from the top 3 winners
of that school).

Length:500 words or less. Can
be clearly hand written or typed
Certificate and ribbon will be given to everyone who
